The Canal itself is right beside the Ciudad del Saber, so we can watch the ships pass through all day, but to visit the Canal there are 3 special places called the 'locks' which is where you can see the water level change, and then the boat will sail through. The reason why they have so many locks and water level changes is because the water level of the lake that joins the oceans together is higher than sea level.

1.) watch the 'film' about the Panama Canal (which seems more like propaganda for the Canal's construction rather than the science of the canal itself)
2.) Explore the Canal Museum which I found funny but very 'educational' in the sense that it reminded me of some of the old History classes I'd taken
3.) See a real ship pass through the Canal and watch the locks open up. This part was my favourite as we really got to see the entire process happen.
