After watching Montreal lose to Boston in a 1-0 overtime I un-wisely stayed up very late prior to my 9:10am flight to Miami on my way to the amazing Panama City, Panama.
After finishing my packing at 3:30am and trying to catch some zzz's before my 6:45am taxi to the airport, I arrived at the airport in a rush but with confidence that I would have enough time to make it through the airport security and to the gate with time to spare.
It turns out that my flight was not at 9:10am as I'd thought but 6:10am and instead of making it a good 2 hours early, I'd missed my flight completely by an hour. I was devastated, but because it was so early in the morning I had barely enough water in my eyes to keep my contacts hydrated and couldn't even shed a tear.
I was extremely fortunate to have the American Airlines representatives very understandingly and calmly rebook me on the next flight out to Miami at 12:40pm, meaning I would in fact arrive in Panama on today May 9th.
The beginning of my trip was tumultuous to say the least, and the mini heart attack experienced truly chilled me to the bone at the thought of my internship presence being in jeopardy. Nevertheless, at 8:03am I am sitting at the gate waiting for four hours to start the real beginning of my trip, hopeful that it will all turn out okay.
