Yesterday, we stopped at a grocery store on the way home, Rey, and picked up fruits and cereal for the next morning's breakfast, as breakfast here at the hostel was not available until 7:30am. Most of the morning we spent working to find a place to live for the next two and a half months, as it increasingly dawned on me that we'd been spending a lot of money on cabs simply to get to work and back because we lived so incredibly far from the offices.
During this work, we experienced our first power outage (shown here in the image) where basically the entire office shut down as a result of the power cutting out during an intense rainstorm. The weather as we'd been working has increased in its intensity in terms of rain. When I originally arrived, the rain was not much of a problem, but as the day went on, the rain seemed to increase in intensity and duration.

My first assignment was working directly with Tayra Pinzón, who really managed the distribution of information and reading materials internally and externally. My mission under her guidance was to read over the best practices (projects undertaken by the WFP.

We returned to the plaza for lunch, from which I got an interesting Panamanian Burrito (which had plantain!). and my roomate wanted to try the newly opened yogenfrüz (a popular frozen yogurt company where I come from as well).

I ended my night with a beautiful cup of ceviche from Loraina (a cafe down the road from my hostel) for $6. The ceviche served here was great and even had bits of green apple and mint which I found very unique.
Completely wiped out again, and tired from so much learning (in both English and Spanish) its no wonder as to why these posts keep getting shorter and shorter!
